This guide covers the period both both before and after a new starter joins the team. These are just a few things that we believe are important to ensure all new starters feel part of the team.

We know that onboarding is especially challenging when done remotely and sometimes in different time zones. It means no traditional coffee catch ups or team lunches and can often feel like teams are thrown straight into work, without the more fun and exciting parts of the onboarding journey.

It’s so important that to get the onboarding period right as these early experiences set the tone for the new hire’s time at the company - whilst also helping them get up and running more quickly. Poor experiences go a company's culture, can drive attrition, and can also impact the company's brand and reputation externally.
